What is your background?
My name is Anna Schmidt, and I am one of the new Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialists here at Toneworks. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin -La Crosse where I discovered my passion for helping individuals of all abilities and completed my degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Since then, I worked at United Hospital in their Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit as a Recreational Therapist. I am looking forward to this new adventure at Toneworks!
What is your role at TLC?
My new role at Toneworks includes; creating and facilitating Mindfulness/Breathing activities, creative expression including Art and Cooking, Gym activities, and going out into the Community.
Why are you excited to work at TLC?
1 am excited in this new role as I love using fun and meaningful activities to help the individuals grow, connect, and enjoy life. Through play, movement, and creative experiences, I support building confidence, friendships, and independence. My goal is to make each activity enjoyable while helping develop skills that last a lifetime.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy boating, walking, traveling, going to farmer’s markets, taking care of my house plants, painting, listening to music and cooking new recipes.
What is a fun fact about you?
I collect tiny glass animal figures on my office desk.
