Emersen Smith

What is your background?

I received my degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, but I am originally from Kenosha Wisconsin. I graduated in 2024 and did a six-month internship at the Park Nicollet where I worked in Methodist hospital, Struther’s Parkinsons Center and Park Nicollet Hospice.

What is your role at TLC?

I am the Music Therapist at TLC! I create musical interventions for all of our clients to enjoy. We work on communication skills, motor skills, and social skills through music twice a day! Let me be the first to tell you, every single client has an impeccable music taste.

Why do you like working at TLC?

I love working at TLC because there is not one day that goes by that I am not laughing. Every client (and staff) brings their own unique personality every day and it brings me so much joy to learn about every single one of them

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, you can find me baking anything and everything! Now, I am trying to perfect the French macaron! I also enjoy nature and traveling the world. I have been so fortunate to have traveled to 17 countries.

What is a fun fact about you?

I was very over involved in college. My senior year I was in women’s wrestling, head of 3 student organizations, in 3 ensembles and the school mascot (Sir Victor).
